A range of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments are offered at competitive prices, some of which have park views. There is an impressive 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom top floor penthouse - perfect for the larger family or family travelling with nannies or maids - which boasts a roof atrium that allows light to flood in and magnificent park views.

Princess Diana Children's Playground

And near Kensington Palace further along the park, there is the lovely Princess Diana children's playground where you can enjoy a coffee while your children amuse themselves on the great range of play and sensory equipment.

The Serpentine

Boating on The Serpentine: in Hyde Park there is a fleet of rowing and pedal boats for visitors to enjoy gliding across the lake. A lovely way to spend a summer's afternoon meandering around on the shimmering water. For refreshments, the Serpentine Bar & Kitchen, inspired by English country living, is a retreat for Londoners and visitors alike. They serve a wide variety of tasty hot meals and snacks, sandwiches, salads, cakes, puddings and drinks. A great place to stop off during your stroll through the park.

The Diana Memorial Fountain

The Diana Memorial Fountain: Built from 545 pieces of Cornish granite, the design was inspired by the mercurial nature of Diana's nature and life with water flowing in two directions, cascading, swirling and bubbling before meeting in a calm pool at the bottom.  There are three little bridges where you can cross the water to get right to the heart of the fountain.

The Serpentine Lido Cafe

The Serpentine Lido Cafe offers stunning views and has a large alfresco dining area - again this is a lovely treat during the summer.

Speakers Corner

Speakers' Corner has been a traditional site for public speeches and debates since the 1800's when protests and demonstrations took place on the corner of Hyde Park. Historic figures such as Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and George Orwell used the area regularly to exercise their right to free speech. On a Sunday morning, you can wander along and see crowds gathering at Speakers' Corner to hear a range of enthusiasts expounding their views on the political issues of the day. Anyone can turn up unannounced to speak on any subject, as long as the police consider their speeches lawful.

Wildlife

Wildlife: Hyde Park provides a unique habitat for a diverse variety of species of flora and fauna. Positive changes in management practices in recent decades have encouraged new species to become established in the park. The meadow area gives a flavour of how Hyde Park once looked in years gone by and has become more diverse year on year since its creation; of special delight to visitors is the sight of colourful butterflies feeding off the range of native British wildflowers which grow in the meadow.

Trees, shrub, and herbaceous plantings provide rich habitats for song birds including robins, dunnocks and tits. Look out for small groups of long tailed tits that hop from tree to tree looking for insects and nesting materials. Sadly, the over feeding of aggressive pigeons and squirrels threatens the native song birds as they are unable to compete with them.

Goose Duckling: The Serpentine attracts a large number of wildfowl, many of which are winter visitors to the park. Look out for exotic looking great crested grebes and observe their spectacular mating rituals. The lake attracts a large number of insects and that provides a perfect feeding ground for bats. A prime example of the food chain on which all living creatures rely..... The best places to view bats are on Dell bridge around dusk and also close to Serpentine Bridge.

Much of the wildlife goes unnoticed by the majority of visitors. This includes a large number of 'minibeasts' such as beetles, bees and ground foraging insects. These insects are a vital component of the park ecosystem and the careful protection of their habitats is very important for the overall health of the park.

Look out for other exotic and unusual visitors to Hyde Park.Recent sightings have included a black swan, a buzzard and egyptian geese.
