Fitzrovia

Fitzrovia is a diverse residential area where grand 18th and 19th century apartments abound. Well situated for the West End theatres, Fitzrovia has many hotels, galleries and old-school pubs. Charlotte Street is lined with lively bistros and cafes and many of the quiet streets are now home to new media, advertising and architectural companies as well as a number of art galleries. The iconic BT Tower is in the centre of the neighbourhood and dominates the skyline.

Fitzrovia is roughly bounded by Oxford Street, Great Portland Street, Euston Road and Gower Street. It lies about a mile north of Trafalgar Square and Soho between Bloomsbury and Marylebone. Other well known streets in the area include Tottenham Court Road, Goodge Street, Charlotte Street, Fitzroy Square and Great Titchfield Street.

The area is very well served by public transport with many buses routes and it has six tube stations: Great Portland Street, Warren Street, Euston Square, Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road, and Oxford Circus. Marylebone, Euston, Charing Cross, Kings Cross, and St Pancras International mainline rail stations are also within walking distance of the neighbourhood.

Interestingly, Fitzrovia has one of the lowest rates of car ownership in the UK; there are several TfL Cycle Hire stations in the locality.

In recent years, Fitzrovia has become one of London's most up-and-coming dining districts with an array of superb restaurants including Sushi Atelier, Hakkasan Hanway Place, Honey & Co, Portland, Bao, Clipstone, ROVI, Salt Yard, Pied a Terre, Berners Tavern and Mere to name but a few.
